Speaking of books...

this is the 3rd & last
time that I will post for
Mr. Joseph Pearce.

This is merely a (hopefully
not overly-obnoxious way)
to obtain a link to The Saint
Austin Review...

I had a perfectly good one.
But the day after I displayed
the banner below, it went

Now, I am not going to conti-
nue the campaign forever-
No [crickets], I just can't do it!

Listed below will be *links to
some of the fine books written
by Mr. Pearce- (most of which
my mom has read)...

(Hope this blog post doesn't
boggle "Giggle!":)

1. "Literary Giants, Literary
Catholics," by Joseph Pearce.

2. "Flowers of Heaven," by

Joseph Pearce.

3. "Old Thunder," by

Joseph Pearce.

4. "C.S. Lewis and the Catholic
Church," by Joseph Pearce.

5. "The Unmasking of Oscar

Wilde," by Joseph Pearce.

6. "Tolkien: Man and Myth,"
by Joseph Pearce.

7. "Wisdom and Innocence:
A Life of G.K. Chesterton," by
Joseph Pearce.

8. "Unafraid of Virginia Woolf:
The Friends and Enemies of Roy
Campbell," by Joseph Pearce.

9. "Solzhenitsyn and the Modern
World," by Joseph Pearce.

Well, [crickets], I am going to stop
here, although there are others.

If I do not get a workable link, I may
decide to leave the banner- right now
it goes to a place where StAR can be

It's the best I can do.

For now.

*(excuse me, [crickets,] but
I have checked some of these

they're not all working...

But they shall remain:)

StAR Magazine part ii

Found a new link to StAR
magazine, [crickets], through
Sapientia Press...

This will (hopefully!) be
linkable & work!

At least on the link to the
right. Have to figure out
how to reactivate the banner...

Maybe I should page
Joseph Pearce...

Update: Got it to work!
Also posted a banner to
the American Chesterton

But [crickets], I am going to
need your help.

Please let me know if the
banners are centered correctly-
they are on my blog, but as I'm
not an expert, I'm not sure they
are correct.

The Saint Austin Review

Well, [crickets], I know that
I don't have to tell you how
happy it makes me to have
been able to figure out how
to link to different places of

But somehow I messed up my
link completely, to the wonder-
ful Saint Austin Review, also
known as StAR magazine.

I've had it linked to the right for
weeks, and it worked just fine.
Then I attempted to display their
banner, but may have messed up
the link entirely... for some reason
both of them are not working.

They were both fine...
at first.
Now they lead to nowhere.
And although the banner is
centered on my blog, I have
been told it is askew on other

Am going to wait & see if it
starts working again soon-
I hope so!

A request from Dawn Eden

via Jeff Miller @ The Curt Jester
regarding Catholic high schools
that ban blogging.

If you have or had attended
a Catholic HS, are a former or
present member of a Catholic
HS faculty, or a member of
the clergy... read how you
can help.

The info is needed for her
Daily News column, Blog On!

So if you went to a Catholic HS,
& have a blog, check it out!

Pass it on...

I'm going to keep my word about
not posting on anyone's blog today,
(& try not to overcompensate tomor-

But head over here & print it out-
we're going to need it for the next

Do you think it will require a (gulp!)...
no.2 pencil?

Good morning...

Am sitting here in the semi-dark-
ness, a victim of my own caffeine-
induced sleepless-night.
Have decided to babble on my own
blog today.
Serves me right.
Hastily grabbed a **CRMD from the
fridge last night-
Am not much of a soda drinker.

Anyway, figured I'd give my blog-
friends a break.
Had a wonderful "chat" with Doctor
Thursday yesterday over at GKC's
Favourite. If you stop over there,
tell him I said hi. He's posting on
the Luminous Mysteries of the
Rosary, which coincidentally Nancy
Brown mentioned over at Flying
Speaking of Mrs. Brown, have a new
link to the right for Mr. Michael
Brown... photographer extraordinaire!
I never saw a 3-D photo that's still
three dimensional with one eye closed!
Check out Through the Lens- very neat!!!

Think I joined St. Blog's Parish- am not
sure, though. Have not been notified of
my accepted membership. Will have to
wait & see...

Well [crickets], now that it's almost
time to wake up, I think I'll go to sleep.

Fleeced sheep

Do all the different versions
of the Bible contain the part
where Jesus said that no one
knows when the end of the
world is going to happen?

What about the parts that warn
of false prophet$ & false idol$?
Were they removed too?

If not, and these sections haven't
been excised or condensed for
convenience sake-(or merely
overlooked & ignored), then how
do the authors who rake in the
dough with their vastly different
interpretations & works of fiction
get away with it?

Are they satisfied with the
fact that they have convinced
some people not to go to church,
but sit around waiting to be

While continuing to buy their books,
of course!

$$$Anybody know why?$$$

+ JMJ +

Can you tell that I love
posting pix?
Aren't they beautiful?
I really can't help myself.
Good thing it's my blog:)

(GKC & friend:)

Was at the local library
looking up GK Chesterton in
the New Book of Knowledge

Had to check the index, as
he wasn't in volume "C"...
Found him listed under the
letter "E"- for "English authors."

He got two whole sentences.

The World Book, on the other
hand, had him in volume "C"-
he got a whole paragraph.

Question #1:

What did Jesus mean when
He said that praying & caring
for only our own circle of loved
ones is nothing more than what
the pagans do?

? #2

"As we forgive those who
trespass against us."
means what?

Last 1, 4 now...

Who did Jesus say knows
future happenings?

a) all of us

b) the angels

c) psychics

d) only the Father

Oops 1 more...

How many times are
we supposed to forgive
one another?

a) 70X7

b) 'til death do us part

c) as many times as it

d) all of the above

Speaking of trees...

One of my all time favorite
poems is about a misbehaving

It's called The Laughing Willow,
by Ernestine Cobern Beyer.

The only copy I ever saw
was from a May 1970 issue of
Jack & Jill Magazine.

Going to go look it up...

(Later that week)...

Well, can't find it online-
I do have a copy of it.

Can we print a poem if we
credit the actual author, or
does the copyright belong to
the publisher?

Knowledge of a tree

Interesting article posted
by Doctor Thursday on the
Purkinje Tree.

I had never heard of it-
but for those of you familiar
with Genesis, it is a fascina-
ting observation.

Was disappointed with the
cappucino these past couple
of Thursdays...
And I count on them to get
me through choir practice.
We all have our ways of
trying to stay awake-
We love practice, (and each
other:) but we're all up early
for the most part- being out
late-ish is not what we're
used to.
So I accidentally found a
drink loaded with caffeine
that I like, other than coffee.
Youngest likes soda ('pop' for
those of you in the rest of
the country:)
She tried one she didn't like,
and gave it to me.
I don't even like soda really.
It's like a melted-down
carbonated lollipop...
But I do like Dr. Pepper
And this was kind of a
cherry-flavored drink...

I have a new favorite.
