Just reviewing your blog P...and again, I am in awe of your random and specific intelligence.
You always had a gift of odd angles....you saw things at a slight kilter, and managed to pull so much into that space.
I feel honored to still be in your life...
Rare bird you are P...a very rare bird

It's not just Catholics getting the Hollywood treatment. They are currently making a movie based on the Hindu goddess Kali staring Tina Turner- really!- and I'm not holding my breath for accuracy. Mel Gibson's movie threw in some anti-semitic moments that didn't really happen, but he didn't care. Protestants are regularly shown in a poor light, Native American beliefs are reduced to weird mysticism, Wiccans are always bat-guano insane...

It's almost always a mistake to try and mix religion and entertainment: both suffer.

Didn't see the "Passion" yet-

what exactly was inaccurate about it? I understand there were some daydream-type scenes...

Other than that, what was the problem? Is it how it depicted His death? Because EVERYONE present (except His mother) had a hand in it- including those of us who weren't there! We should ALL feel guilty & sorrowful, instead of defensive, about what He endured.

May I add...

I would only look at the mad crowd that handed Christ over for the Romans to kill (& remember, He FORGAVE EVERYONE THERE AS BEING IGNORANT OF KNOWING WHAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY DOING!)...

as being an example of the follow-the-crowd-mob-mentality style mindset that we see today- especially prevalent in the political arena.

& I wouldn't look to that crowd as being representative of anything else.

It would be like holding up John Kerry, for example, (at this point in his life, anyway), as proof that ALL Catholics are hypocrites. (Yes, we're beholden to pray for him, too- which is fine- I have no problem with that- there is hope for everyone)...

Was the quietly dignified & highly respectable Joseph of Aramethea represented in the movie? HE'S the guy that should be emulated & recognized as being an excellent example of a truly honorable man of God!
