For Kathie

To My Granddaughter

By Ernestine Cobern Beyer

Kathie's eyes are bright, alive,
Her manner, blithely charming,
And though her years are only five,
Her wisdom is disarming.

When she, at times, invades my room,
I leave this peaceful place;
Astride Imagination's broom,
I soar with her in space.

Within my own she lays her hand,
And with a compass true,
She guides me to that happy land
Which long ago I knew.

Contemporaries, she and I!
For though my hair is white,
When Kathie blithely passes by,
She leaves me young and bright!

Many thanks, too...

to Dale Ahlquist, for the okay to
post his book on G. K. Chesterton:)

You know, all the times I've been
posting these books- I never thought
to ask...

Geez~

I also want to point out as was
mentioned before in a
prior
post,
(link)-
that Mr. Alquist is the
president of the American Chester-
ton Society- linked to the right...

& that he is host, along with Chuck
Chalberg, of EWTN's series, G. K.
Chesterton: The Apostle of Common
Sense, which can be listened to from
the EWTN Audio Library- an excellent
service- also linked on the right.

I have to say again- I love the EWTN
AL, as I can listen to their programs
while I'm on the computer. There are
only a few linked here- but there is
also a direct link to the complete index
of programs for your convenience.

Two neat sites...

Prayers, please

for sometimes saintly Nick
from
Nick's Bytes. (link)

Nick's had an
incredibly
lousy week,
(link)
although
he is thankfully receiving
the treatment he needs-
sans the insurance he needs.

& thanks to Nick's friend
Tiffany, (link) for keeping
us posted.

Oh... ewww!

& gross!

But it's still

kind of funny... (link:p)

Too incredibly neat!

Terry over @ NCR's
Blog-of-the-Month-

(don't remember which
month, Terry... sorry!):

Abbey-Roads (link)

received a
lengthy
response
(link)
to a
comment he wrote to
EWTN's Joanna Bogle
on her fascinating new
blog from England:

auntie joanna writes...(link)

Joanna & her husband James
host EWTN's informative
& interesting series:

Catholicism: The Heart of
History,
(link)

which will be included in
a new category to the right-
direct links to some of EWTN's
excellent programs offered
from their audio library.

Heheheh...

ROTF

Laughing (link)

'til I'm crying!

(omigosh!)

Especially #'s
8 & 9...

Thanks again, Terry!

A new link on the right

Linked from Catholic Answers. (link)

A request from

Eric Scheske from the

The Daily Eudemon (link)...

I admit nothing!

Ok, I'll 'fess up-

Geez, you're tough!

Well, I used to read quite
a bit and finish everything.
Now it's kind of a different
story- mostly due to the
fact that reading puts me
to sleep- no matter how
fascinating the subject-
which never used to hap-
pen at all- I used to read
well into the night.

Also, lousy vision is a factor
these days-

I've been told that audio
books are an excellent
alternative-

& then there's always the
LARGE PRINT option.

Which reminds me, I'm due
for new specs...

Thanks for asking.

Congratulations to

one of this blog's
favorite writers-

Nightfly (link)

& his

Ladybug:)

*sniff!

I feel like a proud
auntie~

And speaking of

aunties & writers...

There's a new blog linked
to the right from Joanna
Bogle called:

auntie joanna writes- (link)

Joanna and her husband
James
host a very interesting series
on EWTN, that you can listen
to here:

Catholicism: The Heart of History. (link)

Thanks to Terry from
Abbey-Roads (link) for the link
to this neat blog:)

Also from the

EWTN Audio Library- (link)

G. K. Chesterton: The Apostle of
Common Sense-
(link)

hosted by Dale Ahlquist, president
of the American Chesterton Society,
(link)
& Chuck Chalberg, as G.K.C.

The EWTN library is a wonderful
service- it's great being able to
catch up on episodes of many of
the series that I've missed, or
want to hear again...

& it's getting permanently
linked on the right.

Time to vote

at Podcast Alley (link) for your
favorite podcast- this link does go
directly to the site to vote for
Christus Vincit Anywhere, (link)
the new site for the CV Podcast-
and an email addy is needed to
verify your vote...

I do enjoy listening to the different
podcasts while I'm on the 'puter-
they're informative & funny & the
music is beautiful!

& when you happen by, don't forget

to say "hi" to the show's stars, BMP
from Christus Vincit. (link) & his assi-
stant, Shamus O'Reilly:)

Take a read over @

Merle's Third Try. (link)

I'm not a rocket scientist,
but this is what I assume is
Merle's 3rd blog... her last
having been
Herons Nest (link)
which is also linked over to
the right. Featured are Merle's
pearls (first time that's been
said, I'm sure:) of wisdom,
recipes, & the best jokes in
blogland ( sorry
Nick, (link)
but it's true:)

& while you're there, tell her
rhapsody says, "Hi!"
